On 26 February 2026, Burger King unveiled a new initiative aimed at improving customer service at its U.S. restaurants. The fast-food chain introduced “Patty”, a voice-enabled assistant built into employee headsets at hundreds of locations.

Patty is designed to help employees provide polite and consistent service, gently reminding staff to use phrases like “please” and “thank you.” The system isn’t intended to monitor individuals; rather, it gives managers insights into overall service patterns, helping teams deliver smoother and more reliable interactions with customers.

A Burger King spokesperson explained:

“Patty is a coaching tool for our teams. It’s not about scoring employees or enforcing scripts it’s about helping our teams provide the best possible guest experience and giving managers actionable insights.”

Supporting Staff with Daily Operations

Patty doesn’t just focus on polite language. It also assists employees with key daily tasks, including:

  • Automatically updating menus when items run out
  • Guiding staff on food preparation, including popular items like the Whopper
  • Alerting managers to maintenance needs, such as cleaning restrooms
  • Ensuring drive-thru order accuracy

The system is currently being piloted in 500 locations, with plans to expand nationwide by the end of 2026.
